This is an exceptional example of a dissected map on linen, of the province and divisions of Alessandria, Italy. This map is dedicated to the King of Sardinia of Cyprus of Jerusalem (Carlo Alberto, 1798-1849), revised in the year 1850. The map has 6 inset maps of cities in the province: Casale, Voghera, Acqui, Asti, Tortona, and Alessandria. The map shows great detail of roads, railroads, waterways, places, towns, borders, and relief shown by hachures.
