A very interesting and striking wood-cut map of North Africa, parts of the Mediterranean and nearby islands, Sicily, the southernmost part of Italy, Tunisia and Libya. This is Sebastian Munster's map of the area and is based upon Ptolemaic maps and information. Towns, waterways, ports, islands and a large shipwreck are shown. The relief is shown pictorially. The neatline is trapezoidal giving the sense of perspective of the region.
