DESCRIPTION

A striking chart of the top of the Chesapeake Bay. This is sheet 31 of a 3-sheet set (sheets 31, 32, 33) that show the top half of the bay. This chart maps from the head of the bay to Magothy River. Sailing directions, dangers, lighthouses, tides, tidal currents, magnetic variations, numerous soundings, bottom types, ranges, bearings, aids and hazards to navigation and terrestrial features (farmlands, vegetation, roads, place names, cities (Baltimore) and towns, and some relief shading. This chart is very rich in detail. Includes a small inset "Diagram of Sheets" map.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All of our United States Coast Survey (USCS), United States Coast & Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), and similar maps and charts have been professionally unfolded and flattened using humidity baths, semi-permeable membrane, and drying blotter techniques. Most others you typically see on eBay have not been, and worse, are quickly and crudely unfolded for the low-quality photos you see. Unfolding these maps in that way is damaging and weakens them. Please be aware.
