DESCRIPTION

An interesting map of North America that is based on the Janvier map of the same title. It shows the large imaginary Sea of the West (Mer de l'Ouest), including a group of islands and a Northwest Passage stretching from Baffin Bay to Archipel St. Lazare through a complex system of lakes and rivers. The United States, as noted as "Possessions Anglaises," is confined east of the Mississippi River, and French Louisiana stretches to the Pacific Northwest. An interesting array of mountain ranges crisscross the continent, including a spurious mountain range running the length of the Florida peninsula. A must-have for Sea of The West collectors.
